Anoncracy
This is another Reddit alternative I just came across. This one is interesting since it’s primarily focused on moderation terms and having a fair community so to speak. Moderation logs are public too, so anyone can see the actions the moderators take on each community. Anoncracy Anoncracy Communities belong to their members. Open discussion. Community elections. You choose who moderates. anoncracy.com

Root App
Root will be offline tomorrow for some major updates! It’ll be down from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM PST (which if you live in the Central time zone that’s 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM). You can read more about it in this Reddit thread: https://www.reddit.com/r/RootAppOfficial/comments/1xg3qaf/major_update_going_live_tomorrow_tuesday_october/

Thredo
Yeah you're right, that's the biggest problem when it comes to these Reddit alternatives. I think that's another reason why Digg failed when it relaunched, it wasn't doing anything differently than what Reddit was doing. So they closed, then reopened as a RSS feed for AI news. :\

Relay
If you've been getting tired of Reddit lately, you might want to check out Relay. Relay - Dive into anything relay.prataofficial.serv00.net It's a Reddit-style discussion platform built around the familiar 2021 Reddit layout, so everything feels instantly recognizable. The goal is to keep the experience focused on actual conversations instead of making new users jump through endless hoops before they can participate. You don't need karma to start posting, your posts aren't constantly held back by aggressive spam filters just because your account is new, and you're free to join in on discuss…

Thredo
This is another Reddit alternative, the neat thing about Thredo is you don’t need to sign up for an account to reply to threads, and you can now create your own communities on the platform too. I’ve noticed a lot of alternatives don’t give users the ability to make communities, maybe that’s why alternatives aren’t as popular as Reddit? Anyways here’s the link for Thredo! Hi, I work on Nimi Wiki, a browser-based option for saving videos from public X/Twitter, Instagram, TikTok, and Bluesky post links. If you manage your own clips across platforms, I’d value feedback on the link-to-download flow: what step feels unclear? https://video1.nimi.wiki/?utm_source=altforums&utm_medium=community&utm_campaign=alternative_apps Please only save or share material in ways that respect creators’ rights and each platform’s rules.

Two major PHP CVEs (CVE-2026-109618/109619) announced a few hours ago under the name “php2shell” affects any site running PHP 5 to 8. At the time I write this post PHP devs have been released a new update for 8.2, 8.3, 8.4 and 8.5 which patches this issue and same with Sury PHP repositories (with patches for =<8.1 versions) in case someone is using that on Debian (like me). Cloudflare also released a WAF rule regarding this issue too but it may not be a solution to this exploit. More info at https://php2shell.com/ and https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=PHP2Shell

With NOS, which I'm building, you can fix the wording on an HTML report or brief right on the page, before or after you've shared it. Written notes and HTML pages live in the same workspace, so a report and the notes about it stay in one place. Paste the HTML into NOS and you see the rendered page. Click the text you want to change and type the correction. The text in the original HTML is updated to match, so you don't have to dig through tags. To share it, sign in, save the page and create a NOS link. The person you send it to can open it without an account. If you spot another mistake late…
