What sort of software do you like of this type? Well, some plugins that come to mind are bbPress and wpForo. Who has played around with them as a user or admin?

I have ran forums on Wordpress multiple times. In one of most successful forums was actually build on wordpress. I have tried multiple forum plugins like Asgaros, bbPress, wpForo, etc. and my favorite one is wpforo.

I prefer to use Joomla over Wordpress so I have experience with Kunena and it's the best forum plugin for Joomla. The one time I used Wordpress for a website I just had a phpBB forum that was linked on the main page of the blog. WPforo looks to be the best one from a user standpoint.

I haven't used wpForo as an admin, but I was highly impressed as a use and considered getting a wpForo forum.
I especially like the blue emojis that you can buy as an extra.
