Linux PCs

Not sure where to put this but anyone like made-for-Linux PCs? I know of a few brands and personally have one.

Nice I have Ubuntu dual booted on my PC since I can't ditch Windows all together. (Some Sonic hacking tools don't work on Linux and since I already dual boot I didn't really want to bother installing a virtual machine on Ubuntu just for the tools that will only work in Windows.) I do love that there's options for people to buy and not every computer has Windows pre installed. It makes it easier for the every day consumer to get a new Linux ready PC without having to deal with the installation process which can be jarring for those not tech savvy.

It took me awhile to figure how to get fan games to work perfectly. I play all the fan games on Mint, but yeah, it can be a pain and like you said the hacking tools don't work. Dual booting is a good option too.

Oh yeah the fan games are typically written with Windows in mind. Since I mainly hack the 8-bit games the emulator I use for debugging was written in Java and doesn't work on Linux natively. Unlike the Pokemon hacking scene, all the tools are written with Linux in mind lol. Dual booting is just the next best thing.

It's interesting that you mention that Java doesn't run natively on Linux, yet that's one of the major selling points to writing something in Java, is operating system interoperability!

Years ago, when I ran Linux exclusively, I ordered a bare-bones laptop from the ASUS website (back when ASUS was THE top dog for motherboards and quality components), just so that I could put Linux on it without any hassles.
